History of the Patch

Winter Survival, 1989
Keller Training Center
Version 1

The Keller Training Center near Rhinelander was named after Lt Col Alvin Hilton Keller Jr (24MAR23 - 17SEP05), a member of Winconsin Wing and Civil Air Patrol for over fifty years.

Training activities at the center occured during the late-1980s and early-1990s. The activities of 1988, 1989 and 1990 were held in early March when it was still quite cold. The 1989 Winter Survival patch is the only known patch to have been created for an activity held at the Keller Training Center.
