  • Blue represents the sky

  • Gold represents the sun

  • 3 stars represents the Civil Air Patrol's 3 missions:
        Emergency Services, Cadet Programs and Aerospace Education

  • Lightning bolts represent the quick Emergency Service response,
        and there are 3 bolts to signify the 3 rivers of Fort Wayne.

  • "Hawkeyes" is the squadron's nickname for the visual acuity of its air and ground search and rescue teams.

    The patch was designed by 1st Lt Matt Crawford, and approved by Squadron Commander Maj Jason Johnson. It was authorized for wear by Indiana Wing Commander, Col W Mark Reeves, on November 17, 2009.
