The name Dakota Ridge comes from a nearby geological formation.
The yellow halo symbolizes generosity.
The orange setting sun symbolizes worthwhile ambition.
The azure blue symbolizes strength, loyalty and aviation.
The Colorado flag symbolizes membership in the Colorado Wing.
The four stars symbolize the Civil Air Patrol Core Values of Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence and Respect.
The arrowhead symbolizes aviation.
The three contrails symbolize the three fold mission of Civil Air Patrol: Aerospace Education, Emergency Services and Cadet Programs.
"Learn - Serve - Lead" is the squadron motto.
